Hello! Whee!!! It's term 3 now! Well, time flies. I agree that the 1st half year is always very slow going, but well, ass things settle down, and we get on with our usual busy and hectic schedule, time really flies. Now, its already July. The 1st of July today,and it's Youth Day, and tml is a sch holiday. 1st week of sch, still haven settled downe yet, but most of us are currently getting on back to track with the mood of sch.
Well, before sch reopened, we had camp. It was kinda fun, especially de amazing race and stuff, but tiring at the same time. As usual, its always melissa wang that tires ppl out, bt honestly speaking, she's fun.
Well, let me tell u, this camps gonna b unforgettable man, with the fun that we had, and especially the big big hoo ha at the 2nd nite, which involved a police case, and disrupted our sleep.
Ok, lets begin from day 1. We went to sch at 7.30am in the morning, and began with roll call. The seniors present at that time were only Xin Yun and Azlin. The rest came afterwards. afterroll call, we had colours, and they began to brief us, and we started pitching our tents. There was kinda dispute over the height of the tents, cuz our tent is seriously 1 pole short, and terribly short in this case. Its kinda a horrid thought to have a "low roofed" tent, cuz its kinda suffocating. Then after dat, we managed to phyco 1 of the seniors, and in de end she gave in and we pithed the tent all over again, but at least its a more comfortable tent. After dat, we ahd interpatrol games, which we played concentration. Then, we had lunch and had a telematch.
Azlin station required us to do stomach exercises which was kinda tiring and sucky. Jesslyn's station required us to put water balloons between our thighs, and walk to a pail and deposit them there., OMG u should have seen. At certain periods, it's really disgustiong, the way the waterballoons looked from the back, its seems damn sick lah, lyk ahem, and looks lyk u have a puny little short and fat tail. YUCKS!!! Xin Yun's sation was quite fun. She asked me to lead the patrol to fall in, and den i was lyk damn blur lah, she kept laughing at my blurness, and den when every1 fell out, i was lyk still standing there, dunno wad to do, den i asked her,"Huh? I fall out ah?" and gave her dat blank look. Xin Yun den laughed and said,"Of course lah, funny noe, ur question. Dun fall out den do wad, stand there the whole day ah?" Lols, it was damn paiseh lah, but its really funny oso. We had to do the monkey bar, i did it, and was the 1st 1 to complete, then we had to crawl under the sit up benches, which wasn't as bad as i thought. Then we has to hang on to the handrails mid air for around 5 seconds, which was terribly easy, but lots of them didn't manage to do it. Well, cannot blame dem lah, cuz las time i use to cannot oso. Them we had to lift each beam 5 times each, then balance on the three steps, and come down, then mission accomplised! YAY!!! We had to do a series of exercises after dat, then we can go. I fall the petrol in again, and this time round, i made sure dat i wasn't blur again, and den yay, it went smoothly.
Next station, melissa wang. Aiyoh, she kept screaming at us, and gave some cryptic remarks, and was really sacarstic, and kept threatening us with 100 push ups. Crap lah, have to stack bowls and cups together, to make "buildings". It was damn hot and shity. After a long while den fifnish. Haiz...
Phew, back to the shade, den we did some other stuff, which i cant really remember, den we went to do outdoor cooking, which was both fun and disgusting.
We brought all our necessary stuff, and went out to the small field behind the canteen. We used chunkos to chop the grass, and dig hols for out door cooking. It's a real tiring process, which finally we managed to finish doing. Then we started feeding the fire with kindlings, twigs and wadsoever. The food was prepared, and choped, then we put the pot with the spaghetti noodles on to cook. Alamak, who noes, the pots leaking 1. At 1st we were asked to mend the pot, and its terribly troublesome, so we proceeded to cooking the sauce 1st. The fire almost died out a few times, and we blew and hite the newspapers on the ground to get the fire started. It's rather successful, but all the stuff lyk twigs, kindlings, grass and a bit of soil, yes, soil, flew into the spaghetti sauce, and we dun care lah, juz cook. This is why occasionally, after that, when the stuff are being eaten, we can occasionally pull out grass, twigs and kindings from our spaghetti. Byt aiyah who cares, the main ting is that there's something to eat.
Then the noodles. The leaking pot was still unmended. I dun wanna take out the aluminium foil, cuz its full of soot, and kept sticking to my hands. But in the end, i decided to juz put another layer of aluminium foil over dats it, and tah dah, it went perfectly. Haha, there's one issue. The smoke seems to be following me everywhere, and caused my eyes to be singing and tearing from the smoke when i blew at it to get the fire started. Azlin joked and said that mayb she should stay away from me. Haha!
At nite we had a rather long time to bathe after dinner. Haha and guess wad? I hogged on to the same toilet for those 2 nites, same as the toilet which i used last year.
After dat, our patrol had to clean up the toilets, and den we went to sleep. Oh yeah, throughout the camp, the closest junior i had was Geraldine. She's in fact the nicest of all.
I slept wif her for both nites, and i was taking care of her all throughout, especially after she was spooked during the nite walk. Ok here's de part abt the nite walk.
At 1st we tod that there's gonna b sudden inspection on the 1st nite, cuz they put nitewalk as th 2nd nite, bt who noes, night walk was on the 1st nite. Ok , so we tried to sleep. Most of them were able to sleep soundly, but tell u, for the whole night, i slept for less than 2 hours, which was terribly exhausing, cuz the 2nd day's programme was really tiring, but fun too. Then, i slept on off, on off, den they woke us up for the nite walk. It was around 2 to 3 am at that time. The 1st sation was by Xin Yun and Sayafiqah. They waited for us at the basketball court beside the canteen, and told us to sit around the circle while they talked to us about the missions we had to undertake, while telling us ghost stories, and giving us advises on wad to do to avoid lyk seeing wadever stuff. So it was at this juncture that my junior geraldine got spooked. I tink she was scared or wad, then i tink she saw someting, den she suddenly grabed my hand and was lyk totally terrified. I guess she was juz spooked, and sudddenly imagined some stuff lah, which i dun blame her. So she stayed with syafiqah and xin yun while i went with janice gwee as the 1st pair to look for wax.
We found nothing, but it was really spooky overthere at nite, where u totally cant c anything. So we went back, and the rest continued to search after us. While waiting, xin yun chatted to me, and den when they cameback, we proceeded to the next station, which was with azlin and amelia. We had to go to the toilet beside the canteen walkway, which was believed to be haunted to search for some stuff which they put inside, adn it included a metal sponce, a clothes peg, and a nailclipper. Me and su lynn went in, and we were advised not to look under the basins, and not to look upwards. It was totally dark, and were were only given a glow light stick. We found the clothed peg, and went out. Well actually to tink back, there wasn't much necessity to worry, cuz if they were to put the stuff in there themselves, there shouldn't be anyting to b afraid abt.
Ok yeah, so we were asked to proceed to the hall, where melissa wand and jesslyn were at. Amelia forget to warn then abt us coming, and they wern't prepared, so we didn't get to play. It was suppossed to be a really scary station with melissa wang playing the piano and wadever stuff. Well, too bad, and oso a good ting we dun get to play, cuz we didn't get the fun, but we didn't get spooked either.
So we went back to get geraldine 1st befor going back to our tents to sleep. I was taking care of geraldine all the time, and gave her the lightstick to hold. She was still a bit scared lah, but well, she was kinda ok after dat. Well, another round of on off sleep, lasting 1 hr plus, conbined with the approximately 1hour earlier befor the night walk, for the 1st nihgt in 24 hours, i slept for less than 2 hours.
We had to wake up at around 5 o clock to wash up and stuff, before roll call at 6am. I quickly waseh up and changed into my guide u, before grabbing some biscuits to eat in the toilet before roll call. I noe its really disgusting, but well, i noe dat i comfirm will get gastric 1, if i didn't get something to fillmy stomach before roll call, and having pt before breakfast. I dun wanna faint, so the only solution was to eat the biscuits which i have packed into my handcarry before coming to camp, after the experiences from last year.
After dat, we had roll call. It was damn scary and shity lah, with melissa wang inspecting irene's patrol, Kingfisher. Although she didn't inspect my patrol, but almost did, i was trembling, cuz i cant imagine how it would be like when she inspect our patrol. Sh'e's sacarstic ok, and lame oso, cuz i caught her saying some lame stuff. Wah seh, how lucky, mel saw xin yun doing nothing den ask her inspect our patrol. Phew, wad a relief, she was really really nice, never even scold any1 at all, nor had she been scarstic. Wah... really man, wad a relief!
After roll call came the most idiotic and energy consuming part, which is PT. OMg, we had to run 2 rounds around de sch 1st, den go back to the void deck to do stupid stretching exercise. Muscle pain lah, jumping jack, keep repeating after each mistikes, burpees, push up, sit ups, leg ups, bunny hop, star jumps and wad soever rubbish. The way she's telling us to do is lyk not clear, and hurts our muscles and back loads too. Man, she kept showing off her jumping jacks and push ups, and keep mocking at us. A lot of us actually cheated de loh. Lucky never kena caught by her. After a long tiring while den we had breakfast. Wad a relief, i ate biscuits earlier on, or else i'm sure i cant hang on for long de.
Although the bread wasn't nice, we juz ate lyk there's no tomorrow. Oh man, after dat was foot drill, crap! Dats the most feared thing ever, cuz they can go on and on and on and on for long hours without stopping, cuz its camp, and they can do wadeva they lyk. We braced ourselves for it, and den alamak, Melissa wang said,"mam muhada say we can make them do foot drill as long as we want." I was lyk wad de... OMG it's really terrible, although it's in de morning, the sun is not hot, but really strong. We marched for lyk hours, and there was lots of mistakes, and our total punishment amounted up to more than 10 000 if i'm not wrong, and the punishment is to be distributed among the all of us doing foot drill. It really a lot, and wad hours and minutes of agnoy we suffered, along with the sweat, and frightened minds. LOL! Haha endure until mrs pang told us to go comp lab for Crime prevention test. Wah nice, air con here we come!.
The test was a piece of crap, it's juz common sense, and u can easily score very high even without studying at all. I got almost full marks, and i didn't study at all, aso did irene.
After the crime prevention test, we had lunch, followed by our Amazing race. Wow, dat was really fun, but kinda tiring oso. We were given papers and we had to decipher de meaning of it, and solve our venue. Our 1st stop was a playground near the marine parade community library. We walked all the way there, but we had a hard time locating them. We found them after a long last, but lol, we were late. Let me tell u dis, we were late for practically all the stations. Our opposing team was swallow. The game was kinda stupid. They blindfolded some of us, and i was one of them, then we were told to locate the other member's shoes. Haha let me tell u, actually i cheated. the blindfold actually still can c some de, although not so clearly, but i still can c where i was going. I pretended to bump into things, and deliberately acted as though i really couldn't c anything,and after dat juz made a dash for the shoe, den ran back. LOL! I was the 1st to complete the game. Next task, we had to sit as a patrol, and hold hands crossed behind each other's bac and do wad dey tell us to do. It was stupid lah, but fun at the same time.
Next stop, our highlights. It was melissa wang's station, and we did a really incredible thing. Alrite, we solved our venue which is KSC, and dat meant Katong Shopping Centre. We were late again, so the other patrol, Jasmine, get to choose which side of the traffic they want. They choose the better one. Haha ok, so here's the task. we were to hold a piece of paper with "HONK IF I'M HOT" on it, and we were to collect as much honks as possible. For a moment we wree lyk super amazed and dumbfounded. LOL! Classic man, u should have looked at the face f every 1. Well, we ju7z went to the other junction at the T junction. Haha we really created road dis orders man. We collected a total of 39 honks, second in position of the whole camp. The process was really funny. Some drivers honked a lot of times, but it's accounted as 1 honk per car. Some of the drivers looked at us in disbelief, and started to "bi shou hua jiao". Some were really fun and honked, while some pretended to honk, but didn't. Haha honks here and there everywhere. Even the real honks, we also anyhow lah, take it into account. It was so much fun, although embarassing at 1st. Haha i kept wondering if i would meet my mum and dad on the way, cuz it was on thursday, and they often go home from the market at that time of the day. LOL!, but den i didn't lah. Really fun man! Jasmine patrol collected a total of 45 honks, and was the 1st in place.
Our next venue was roxy square. It was written as (7699)2. This meant roxy square. If u have noticed, 7699 is actually the mumber for each of the alphabets.
Roxy square's station was by Xin Yun. As usual, we were late, and dat was the slackest sation of all. we played a game where by the person infront does action to tell u wad dey wanna say, without using verbal expression. We were tro guess the names of 3 movies, with each harder than ever. The 1st 1 was easy to guess, it was Shrek 3. Th second 1 was Pirates of the carrebiens at world's end. Haha dat 1 i dun deny that we cheated. cuz we whispered to each other. The last 1 was Nancy Drew, and nobody managed to guess it, cuz it was really difficult to portray. We ended the game with a cheer as usual, and proceeded to the next station which was Giant in parkway, and do u noe wad dat means? Well, in case u dunno, it means air con!!! Hurray!!!
We had some cool air con on the way there, as we went through roxy square to the overhead bridge into parkway. Upon reaching parkway, phew, wad a nice feeling, air con!!! When we saw Amelia Pang, we were really glad, cuz for the 1st time, we were early. We reached before irene's patrol, King fisher. We rested for a while, while waiting for them, and enjoying the air con at the same time.
Finally, after a long, but enjoyable wait, Kingfisher patrol arrived. We were asked to find items in Giant so that the items add up to $63.70 if i'm not wrong. Since i'm very familar with Giant, i lead them to find the items of the various categories, example: daily necessities, frozen food, etc... We managed to finish at around the same time.
Lol, tell u wad, for the wholetime in Giant, i was half hoping to meet my parent, cuz i wan dem to buy me drink. Anyway with our parents around, they cannot be too harsh on us. Haha!
Then, after the game, we headed back to sch. We were given some free time while waiting for other patrols to come back. After dat, we were suppossed to be doing tentage, but luckily it looks lyk it was going to rain, so we were given the time to practice our items, which are mainly skits. Furthermore, we were told to bring our bags from the tent to the classroom, cuz they dun want our bags to be wet. Well, this incident is actually related to the incident that happened at night, cuz it somehow led to it indirectly.
Throughout the whole skit discussion with Jasmine patrol, cuz we decided on a combined patrol skit, i was actually sleeping, cuz we were supposed to be given the time to rest as they knew that we didn't had enough sleep the nite before.
We practiced our conbined patrol skit, which was quite funny, then we headed to the canteen for our dinner.
During dinner, we saw that the basketballers were eating dinner, and dat they were having camp oso. I saw miss su with the basketballers.
After dinner, we went back to the void deck to rest and to prepare for the skit for around 45 minutes before going up to the hall for our campfire. Our patrol took de time to rest instead, so i was wif my junior Geraldine and we lazed around at the void deck and we also played games with the others before Sayafiqah told us to go to the hall.
We gathered together with the seniors and we went to the hall together.
We had a really enjoyable time at the campfire. We played games, sang songs, and performed our skit. It was really funny. Generally, the other patrols were rather great too, but our combined patrol skit was in fact the best. Yay! Hurray!!!
After the campfire, when we were heading downstairs from the hall to the circular block, we saw something large and black flying around. It was a bat actually, but everybody panicked and started screaming and running back to the hall. There was lotsa confusion, and Geraldine was freaked out again. I held on to her den we ran back to the hall together with the crowd. Then, Azlin and Xin Yun they all asked us wad happened, and then when we told them, they said there was nothing to be afraid about, cuz there are only us and the other mams.
We headed down to the circular block field, and we played the sparkles, and calmed down and had fun. Geraldine was ok after some comforting. Well, that nite was really fun at the campfire.
We were allowed to go back to the classrooms to grab our things and bathe. Well, it was found our that the classrooms were unlocked, as i think one of the mams forgot the lock the doors. I quickly grabbed my stuff and choing to the toilet to bathe. I hogged on to the toilet to myself and bathed. While bathing, i heard that some bags were missing. After bathing, i went back to the classroom, and when i saw irene, i asked her wether she bathed already. Then, i was really shocked to see her cry. I asked her wad happened and then she said that she lost her bag, along with some others. The total loss amounted up to 8.
It was found out that some bags were being ransacked also. I consoled irene then asked her was there any valuables in her bag. She said that she had her ipod inside, and it was gone, togther with her bags.
I washed my face 1st, den promised to go with her to report to the mam about the loss of her ipod, which she haven't done so, apart from the loss of the bags which had already been reported.
When i juz finished washing my face, the whistle was sounded, as the mams wanted to gather us all back at the void deck immediately. It was done on an emergency basis, as they feared for our safety, cuz they are afraid that there might be some people who are in sch and who might be the ones responsible for the theft that might harm any1 of us.
